So, Gen Z, they\u2019re age about 13 through 27, they\u2019ve only known the climate crisis,\u2019 she said.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018If they\u2019re in high school or college, especially in college, it is very likely that whatever they\u2019ve chosen as their major for study may not result in an affordable wage. They\u2019ve coined the term climate anxiety\u2026\u2019 she said.<br \/>\nFlorida Gov. Ron DeSantis responded to Harris\u2019 comments by rejecting her proposal.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018No. Also, suffering from \u2018climate anxiety\u2019 is not exactly an argument *for* lowering the voting age,\u2019 he asserted in a post on X.<br \/>\nWhile Harris wants to let younger Americans vote, she has previously advocated for raising the minimum age to purchase a gun to 21 years old.<\/p>\n<p>\u2018We can\u2019t fail the American people on gun violence anymore. It\u2019s time for the Senate to do something. Ban assault weapons and high-capacity magazines. Raise the age to purchase guns from 18 to 21. Strengthen background checks.
